METHOD
MARGARET MORRIS MOVEMENT (MMM) is fundamentally a Creative, Progressive and Educational dance technique..
The MMM technique syllabus is based on a series of exercises each a set of co-ordinated movements which are designed to develop a sense of rhythm and balance, stretch and strengthen muscles, improve posture, concentration level, agility and co-ordination and mobilise joints.
Each exercise is performed to specially selected music and is a balanced phrase of movement with one or more physiological aims. The body quickly responds to the precise systematic training..
The breadth of the syllabus encompasses a diverse scope of elements and levels which provides everyone with the opportunity to constantly develop and reach his or her full potential.
Free movement expression and movement composition is integrated throughout the technique to form an aesthetic basis for creative movement, choreography and dance.
- This unique system of exercise, dance and contemporary movement training is designed to include all ages and abilities.
- MMM is aware of the need for health education. The value of providing clear explanation, correction and support enables the students to gain the most benefit from each exercise and increases their self-awareness.
