POSTURE

- A greater lung capacity as the rib cage and diaphragm are less constricted.
- Improved digestive system as the abdomen is less restricted enabling the digestive sytem to work more effectively.
- Correction of anatomical abnormalities caused by the weight being thrown onto the wrong bones, ligaments and muscles of the body.
WALKING
- The correction of the lever mechanism when walking is emphasised.
- Opposition training accentuates the body’s natural contra-lateral co-ordination.

- For dancers and athletes it is of supreme importance in developing staying power when sudden strenuous movements are taken.
- As a preventative measure with regards to colds, coughs and other respiratory troubles.
- Complete ventilation leads to an improved circulatory and digestive system.
- The syllabus aims to develop the capacity of the lungs by special breathing exercises and timed breathing with all the exercises.
- There are three different types of breathing used according to the kind of movement and the exertion involved Deep, Synchronised and Expiratory.
